Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Here are some news and major issues and initiatives that your Union is currently working on.

1. CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS:
We continue our new contract negotiations with the County. While we have had some meetings postponed due to weather and other emergency issues, we stand ready to re-engage with County negotiators on March 10, 2021.

2. CITY ELECTIONS:
We need all DSABC members and their families who live in the City of San Antonio to register and then VOTE in the May Municipal Election. You have until April 1, 2021 to register to vote. Early Voting is from April 19th – 27th, and Election Day is May 1st. We are asking all members to Vote NO on Proposition B. If approved, Prop. B would repeal San Antonio Police Officer’s right to collective bargaining. Prop. B is an anti-law enforcement and anti-collective bargaining initiative and we ask all members to Vote No on Prop. B!
IF THIS PASSES, WE COULD BE NEXT.

3. CONGRATULATIONS!:
DSABC would like to offer our congratulations to all Deputies who have been promoted as well as those who are retiring. Thank you for your service!

4. CADET CLASS GRADUATION:
The next cadet class of 31 will graduate on March 19, 2021.

5. NEW DSABC BLDG.:
We have formed a Building Committee to start researching the purchase of a new building. The Committee will start meeting this month and will be surveying the members in the near future to get input of what the membership wants in our new Union Hall. The members of the Building Committee are: Sabrina Rivera (Chair), Louis Lopez, Jason Jarvis, Michael Pena, Joseph Ward.

As usual, I have an open-door and welcome your questions and comments.

In Solidarity,

Jeremy Payne
President
