At approximately 1230 hours on Monday, October 5, 2020, the spouse of Booking Sergeant, Sergeant Alfredo Martinez, Leticia Martinez (former BCSO Deputy) and Retired BCSO Sergeant, Sergeant Alfred Alcantar were struck and injured by a drunk driver who was also intoxicated on heroin and driving over 100 miles an hour.  Both are Deputy Constables for Precinct Two. Sgt Alcantar has serious injuries to his foot and leg and Letty received serious injuries to both of her legs that were crushed in this accident. A GoFundMe account has been set up for them and they are asking “…for your prayers for both Deputies and their families. Second, we are asking for your support. As first responders, we are all one family. We want to provide any bit of relief we can for both Deputies. There is no way of knowing when either of them will be able to work again and we want to do what we can to help relieve some of the financial expenses from this incident.” Booking Staff will have a bake sale on Friday, October 16, 2020.  Please show your support at this time for both the Martinez’s and Sgt Alcantar.  Raffle tickets will be available for purchase starting on October 16, 2020, for $2.00 each. Drawing will be on November 16, 2020. For Raffle information or to make a donation please contact Sgt Martin at ext. 5185.

DSABC would like to thank the Austin Police Officers Association, the Precinct 2 Constables’ leadership, and CLEAT for assisting the Martinez Family with housing accommodations while Letty is undergoing surgeries at an Austin area hospital.
