Charitable tournament to be held May 16, 2024 at Hyatt Hill Country Golf Course
San Antonio, TX – ACT DSABC is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Lt. Jeremy Payne Memorial ACT Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort Golf Club. ACT, the community outreach charitable arm of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County (DSABC), serves the heroes of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and their families. Composed of members and friends of the DSABC, ACT assists deputies and their families with out-of-pocket medical expenses, unforeseen funeral expenses, college scholarships, as well as aiding the underserved in our community through food assistance and educational programs for children in at-risk communities. Lt. Jeremy Payne, former DSABC President and visionary founder of ACT, dedicated his life to serving the heroes of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, their families and the most disadvantaged within the community. His legacy lives on through ACT’s mission to support our deputies and their loved ones with medical and funeral expenses, college scholarships, and outreach to the underserved through food assistance and educational programs.
The sudden passing of Lt. Payne on December 11, 2022, underscored the critical importance of addressing mental health within the law enforcement community. ACT is committed to continuing his legacy by providing our first responders with the necessary resources to enhance wellness, build resilience, and address the stress related to line-of-duty activities.
The Lt. Jeremy Payne Memorial Golf Tournament not only celebrates the memory of a fallen hero but also raises essential funds to support ACT’s charitable activities.
